Lengthy guitar solos, big hair and powerful vocals, that’s what I love about Glam Rock. Personally, I think the genre encapsulates what music should be all about. It’s fun, it’s crazy and most importantly, every performance must begin and end in pyrotechnics.
Here is yet another long list of my favorite songs from that era
Heaven’s on Fire by KISS
Livin’ on a Prayer by Bon Jovi
After the Rain by Nelson
Two Steps Behind by Def Leppard
When I See You Smile by Bad English
Cryin’ by Aerosmith
Somebody to Love by Queen
Under Pressure Queen feat David Bowie
Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door by Guns n’ Roses
I Believe In A Thing Called Love by The Darkness
Note: Yes, The Darkness is part of the list. They almost succeeded in reviving Glam Rock in the early 2000, that alone deserved recognition. They disbanded but I heard they got back together m/
