Rants and Raves

Back to Solids

So the 9 days of torture is over, I actually made it without faltering, how awesome is that? Well, technically, I cheated on the 8th and 9th day but I had to because I’ll be celebrating 6th month of “togetherness” with the boyfriend with a cozy dinner tonight so he feels that I should ease myself back to eating solids early. I said technically because the solids I ate still consisted of soup except for that one time. Plus the servings’ are pretty small so they’re not that substantial. I fear that I might not be able to eat as much as I could have later at that steakhouse place (unlimited steaks, yo) for fear of upsetting the stomach.

Being reintroduced to eating solids is surprisingly easy. There was no upset stomach (then again, the servings are tiny) and I felt really full after (and bloated too). The boyf and I plan to do the cleaning diet from time to time. I plan to start my after 3 program to maintain my weight. A little bit drastic, I know but I do gain weight pretty quickly and I really don’t want to go on another crash diet just because things are getting out of hand, you know?

Anyhoo, my last day was yesterday. For breakfast, I was supposed to drink orange juice and nothing else. But I really want to get used to eating solids as quickly as possible to make it to my date so I prepared my mom’s duck soup and that’s what I had for breakfast, the same soup, I had on the 8th day.  By lunch, I ate a small serving of chicken stewed in coconut milk with lots of bamboo shoots. It was terrific! Didn’t eat anything beyond 3 PM after.

The diet is designed to make one lose about 20 lbs. Unfortunately, I don’t think I lost that much. I think I may have lost 8 to 10 pounds but I’ve been known to underestimate things so I could e wrong. I seriously don’t recommend this diet to those that just want to lose five pounds or less because the pain is just not worth it. However, those who want to lose more than ten pounds, squeeze the lemons away.
