It’s that time of the year when I round up all the wonderful, wonderful events of the year past and cram ‘em into a single post.
This year, I made a triumphant return to blogging (hahaha!) I haven’t blogged for more than a year and instead, posted stuff on my public IG: @tinaciouswriter.
I’m not sure what made me go back, maybe I thought blogging was on the outs and no one reads these stuff anymore or perhaps, life simply got in the way. I did birth two children before the pause, if that explains things.
Anyhoo, I remember spending months writing down all the stuff that happened in a year as diary of sorts. I do this so I don’t forget all the roller coaster rides of events that happened every year.
And I’ve been writing these yearly reviews since 2007, can you believe it?
This year was pretty easy going. A blessing compared to the hell that was 2022, hahahaha
(I’m still traumatised, guysth)
No one got sick, everyone I knew were safe and there was peace in my home.
The reason this year is trouble-free was I made true my promise to “focus on what’s in front of me” instead of wallowing and caring about things that I cannot change nor control.
My 2023 was completely different, everything was smooth sailing and honestly, there wasn’t anything worth complaining about.
I turned 40 last March, which was insane.

I went to celebrate with my little family and friends. Above are two of my oldest friends. We were highschool buds!

Rocky also entered preschool – he’s in nursery. He’s been pretty excited about going to school with his older brother, if that isn’t obvious in the picture above

Damy received five medals during the last recognition day. We came and left the program pretty quickly because the venue was super humid and Damy does not want to go up the stage lol

In 2023, I was still fighting the good fight against the bulge lol Going to Japan pretty much offset whatever progress I made

And yeah, the highlight of my year was the Japan trip for our 7th wedding anniversary. It’s seriously one of the most memorable trips I had with the husband and we cannot wait to go back!
Christmas was amazing and I’m sorry I don’t have a family picture. We were exhauuuusted!
The hubs dressed up as Santa!

At work, things are looking up. The most part of 2023, I took a step back from writing and was actually semi-retired.
I only went back because the gem business was kinda slow this year because of the shitty economy.
I wasn’t as motivated to go back so I gave my entire home office a makeover.
I changed everything from my CPU case to my monitor. I wanted a minimalist, all-white desk with zero wires.
What do you think?

I’m still not done. I will add wall art and replace the corkboard on the left side of the wall. It will be marvelous when it’s done.
It did the trick, BTW. I became more motivated because I had new stuff and all the wires were gone. I’ll share an update soon!
I was hoping to buy a piece of land last 2023 but it didn’t happen because the lot I wanted got sold before I could get my hands on it. But I am hopeful that this year will be the year I’ll make this milestone purchase.
My goal for 2024 is to make more money, improve my craft, and focus more on the business. I am still motivated to achieve last year’s financial goals this year.
Here’s hoping for the best!
